Do you feel like your enthusiasm for work is losing its spark? You’ve had the same job for several years. The pay is good, but something is missing. You keep your head down, go through the motions, and complain behind closed doors about how your boss doesn’t appreciate you. Sounds familiar? It’s possible you need a change of scenery, and it’s time to move on.

Have you noticed any of the following warning signs that it might be time to start looking for a new job?

1. You Are Thinking About Finding a New Job

We all get bad days at work—and yes, they do suck. Sometimes, it’s only a bad day that you get to move on from. Yet there are times when it’s just one bad day after another, and it’s not anymore because of work-related issues; you start to realize that your attitude towards the job has changed.

If you find yourself daydreaming more frequently than ever to quit, then there’s a good reason for it. In fact, this is a strong indicator that you probably need to move on and find a new job.

2. You Always Complain About Work

When was the last time you told someone that you enjoyed your job? If you find yourself complaining more often than talking about what’s good about your job, it’s possible that you’re not happy where you are anymore. You probably have given up making a change as well. With that, move along…

3. Your Sleep Has Been Compromised

Do you experience sleep difficulties? Perhaps, you wake up during the night, and the first thought that pops into your head is your job.

We all know how crucial sleep is to our health. However, if you’re stressed out because of your job, and it’s affecting your sleep, then it’s no longer healthy for you.

Your lack of sleep may worsen the situation as well, which will make the job look even worse. Finally, being tired all the time doesn’t mean you’re productive; it actually means you’re burnt out, and there’s no work-life balance anymore. One thing you should never compromise when it comes to your career is your health.

4. You Get Sick Frequently

Did you know that the condition of your mental health can manifest into your physical body if you don’t address it? If you find yourself stressed over a job and you can’t find a single good thing about it, yet you choose to sweep it under the rug, it could manifest physically. With that, you just may find yourself getting sick more often, such as headaches and colds.

5. You Drink Too Much

There’s nothing wrong with having a glass of wine after work. However, if you find yourself looking for alcohol or downing a bottle after a workday most of the time, then it’s time to rethink your professional situation. Too much alcohol isn’t good; so, if you find yourself relying on it too much to “de-stress,” it’s not a healthy way to cope.
