With the holidays coming right around the corner, many companies are hiring seasonal workers to keep up with the busy demands of the season. Not only will you get perks like store discounts, but you could also be eligible for a sign-on bonus at certain companies! Earning a little extra cash and getting some discounts will surely make holiday shopping a lot less stressful. If you’re looking for a holiday side hustle, here are some companies that are offering bonuses to seasonal workers.
If you enjoy being surrounded by clothes, accessories, and the newest gadgets, Kohl’s is currently in the process of onboarding thousands of workers for their retail stores, distribution centers, and Sephora sectors. Hourly pay depends on the role and location, but Kohl’s associates are being offered a 15% discount, flexible scheduling, and weekly paychecks. Additionally, Kohl’s new bonus program offers associates bonus payments from $100 up to $400. If this interests you, Kohl’s already hosted their first hiring event, but their second event is happening from October 21 to 23. With this, applicants will be ae to interview and receive a job offer on the same day. It will take place in the company’s stores, distribution centers, and e-commerce fulfillment centers.
Just like last year, UPS is planning to hire an additional 100,000 part and full-time, seasonal workers to keep up with shipping demands around the holidays. They’re primarily looking for package handlers, drivers, and driver helpers to assist on delivery routes. Depending on the location, UPS has already increased the hourly wage to $15—and up to $22 in some areas—an hour with a sign-on bonus of $100 up to $400. If you don’t have much time for the application process, these roles might be a perfect option as the company is speeding up its process. In previous years, applicants had to wait up to two weeks before they received an offer. Now, UPS pledges to offer many roles within 30 minutes.
If you want to work for one of the largest off-price retail stores in the country, you might want to consider Burlington Stores. This company is primarily looking for seasonal cashiers and retail receiving associates, but there is a decent variety of other seasonal roles as well. As a retail associate, you’ll need to deliver quality customer service as you run the register and handle returns and exchanges. If you decide to apply for the receiving associate position, your responsibilities will include receiving shipments, as well as processing and stocking them.
This year, 1-800-Flowers plans to hire more than 10,000 seasonal workers, which is similar to last year. These workers are needed to deliver food and gifts from each of their brands—including Harry & David and Cheryl’s Cookies. This company is primarily looking to fill its part and full-time positions in key and high-volume areas, like gift assembly. 1-800-Flowers is offering a bonus and increased pay for their returning hires. There are also some other additional perks, such as product giveaways and raffles.
If you find yourself running into a CVS all the time when running errands, you might want to consider applying for seasonal work at one of the stores near you. They aren’t offering sign-on bonuses to all employees, but some roles can expect a bonus of up to $1,000.
With high demand, these positions won’t be available for long, so make sure you get those applications out! And don’t forget to check out your local small businesses who might also have some perks for their seasonal workers. Now, get working so you can get shopping!
