You have a business, and it’s time to grow it. Use social media to foster your following and boost sales!

One of the most daunting tasks of running a business is starting its social media. If done right, your company can grow a massive following of customers eager for more content and increase its sales drastically. With so many social media accounts and businesses online, it is hard to set yourself apart. Hopefully, these tips can help you navigate the world of social media successfully. This post will help you to build your brand with social media.

Find Your Niche

Finding your niche will be critical in developing a successful social media following. This tip reinforces the idea of quality over quantity. It is much better to have followers who are going to be motivated to buy your product or services based on your content than have twice as many who scroll right past it.

If you truly understand your company, you know what sets it apart. One important thing to remember – philanthropy is a strong driving factor in social media today – people love good news and good stories.

For example, say you own a nutrition company that donates half of its proceeds to charity. You are different from other food companies because of your prioritization of health and your philanthropic efforts. If you are a restaurant, maybe you focus on farm-to-table, or only serving cruelty-free foods. Maybe you own a retail store that donates all clearance items to homeless shelters. Find your niche!

Now that you know your niche, decide the range of people who would love your product. In this case, cater your market to those who are vegan, have food sensitivities, fitness lovers, charities, etc. Match your niche with your market.

Create your Aesthetic

Now that you have a niche, you need to build an aesthetic. This includes color schemes, branding themes, and more. Ask for help from your colleagues to source ideas. All social media accounts are going to vary with their aesthetic. Obviously, artists are going to have a very different feel from a law firm. However, it is important that no matter what type of social media you run that it is visually aesthetic.

What this means is that your feed is clean, visually appealing, and draws consumers in. You do not want to lose potential customers due to a feed full of posts that look unprofessional or unattractive. Remember that this is going to be the first time that a lot of your customers are going to see your products. You have a great company, so it is important that you post in a way that reflects the quality of your business.

Post Consistently

Posting consistently is a must. When someone follows you, that means that they like your account. So, obviously, they are expecting to see more of the content they followed you for. Whether it is once daily or once weekly, come up with a consistent posting schedule and stick to it. Staying active on social media allows your followers to be reminded of your company and causes them to think about it throughout the day.

Work with Influencers

Once you know your niche and target demographic, reach out to influencers who would be interested in your company. If they like your company, it is likely that they will share it with their followers. Find influencers with a strong following, that have a similar aesthetic and personal brand as yours. For instance, you don’t want to work with an influencer that posts about eating meat, if you are a vegan restaurant.

You could offer to send them your product in exchange for reviews and shoutouts. If it is someone you want to work with long-term, you could even give them a coupon code where they receive a portion of the earnings every time it is used by one of their followers.

Influencers love to work with companies, and partnering with them is a great way to build your brand with social media, not only grow your following and increase sales but benefit mutually from each other.

Offer Incentives

Incentives are a great way to keep customers connected and interested. Social media includes an array of platforms and ways to offer coupon codes and flash sales. This is beneficial in many ways, as it shows your customers your appreciation while also reminding them of the value of following your account. Contests and giveaways can also be used to get your followers excited and to interact with your account.

Also, the checkout page of your shop is one of the best ways to do this. Make sure you have an option to join a mailing list as well as follow social media whenever they are checking out. Incentives that reward repeat customers like giving them coupons for their next purchase is an impactful way to ensuring that they continue to come back.
